Meet a Sales Backup

This means the team works closely with both our sales department, our customers, and not least our warehouse, to make sure the entire process runs smoothly. Kirsten has worked as a Sales Backup at Oase Outdoors for more than 25 years, and here she shares what her day-to-day work is like.

What do you do at Oase Outdoors?

I work as a Sales Backup, supporting customers in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Denmark both via phone calls and e-mails. I receive orders from customers, check whether the products are in stock, and enter the orders into our ERP system. I’m also responsible for releasing orders and invoicing my customers on an ongoing basis. I book transport for shipments leaving the EU, while orders within the EU are automatically handled by our warehouse.

This means I’m in regular contact with both customers and sales colleagues, helping out with all kinds of different tasks. I’m also the one who handles staff orders. All colleagues can order our products through the intranet at a favourable price. Here too, I really take pride in delivering great service - because in my view, our colleagues are some of the best ambassadors for our products.

What makes your field of work exciting?

I often say that a good day for me is a day when I get to speak German. But more than anything, I take pride in making sure our customers are happy - and that at Oase, we pull together as a team and take good care of one another.

Which results are you most proud of?

That as a company, we managed to get through the challenges during COVID, and that we kept morale high by sending HEP messages to each other by e-mail and on Teams.

Can you share a moment that really stands out to you?

When Oase invited all employees on an extended weekend trip to Iceland. It was a truly unique experience to share with my colleagues.

What’s your best advice for someone considering a job at Oase?

Just go ahead and send in an application. We’re really welcoming to new colleagues, and you’ll quickly feel like part of the team.
