Our approach
Oase Outdoors never compromises on quality, and we set our own high standards and requirements. Our Impact & Compliance department works closely with colleagues in Sourcing to test and assess products before they are launched to the market. It is essential for us to deliver on our promise to both our retailers and consumers - so they can trust our products.
Compliance across product categories
We offer a broad assortment within camping and outdoor living, covering a wide range of product categories - from Food Contact Materials (FCM) and electrical CE products (such as lights, coolers, gas grills, pumps and fans) to furniture, tents, sleeping bags and sleeping mats. Product safety is subject to strict legal requirements across all categories.
To ensure compliance, most of our products follow a four-eyes principle, meaning that key legal and quality requirements are checked by at least two people. Our customers should always feel confident and safe when choosing a product from us.
Setting our own quality standards
Product compliance is a natural part of the way we work. Across the organisation, testing, certifications and data collection are treated as essential product parameters - alongside functionality, colour and design.
Our compliance function has grown over the years and is deeply rooted in our DNA. We have a dedicated team who oversee a systematic approach to ensuring that our entire product range meets both legal requirements and our own internal quality standards.
We work closely across departments to secure testing and documentation and collaborate with external partners and experts whenever specialised knowledge is needed. This helps ensure that requirements are implemented in time.
Working closely with suppliers
Suppliers play an essential role in ensuring compliance and quality. Alongside regular visits from our Buying and R&D teams, we continuously update our supplier manuals to ensure suppliers are aligned with the latest requirements.
We also have local colleagues based in Asia who work closely with suppliers daily, supporting quality follow-up and ensuring specifications are met during production.
We follow the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) covering packaging and reporting requirements related to marketed packaging and products. The overall aim is to support circularity, ensuring that materials can remain in the loop and be reused.
