Supported by strong external partners

On the mission to reduce our impact, we collaborate with highly skilled and relevant partners across different areas. These partnerships are essential, as they give us access to the right knowledge, expertise and data - enabling us to set the best possible goals and analyse progress over time.

In this section, you can explore who we work with across our impact efforts and why these collaborations matter.

amfori BSCI

amfori BSCI operates as an extensive international network of retailers, importers, brands and associations. It is part of amfori, a non-profit organisation working to improve working conditions, environmental standards and ethical business practices in global trade.

BSCI stands for Business Social Compliance Initiative and is a leading European initiative that supports companies in ensuring ethical and responsible production across global supply chains.

Through the amfori BSCI network, manufacturers around the world are audited against the amfori Code of Conduct. The Code is built on a set of principles designed to safeguard ethical and social standards for workers, covering areas such as child labour, forced labour, discrimination, fair wages, working hours and anti-corruption. Audits are conducted by independent third-party organisations, and the results are shared across the amfori BSCI member network.

We, at Oase Outdoors, have partnered with amfori BSCI since 2017 to help ensure fair and responsible working conditions for workers in the factories where our products are manufactured, in line with international labour legislation and with respect for each individual employee. Ethical production is a core value for us, which is why it is important that our suppliers comply with the amfori Code of Conduct.

Our goal is to have 80% of our buying volume audited through amfori BSCI. Audit coverage increased from 73% in 2023 to 76.26% in 2024, and in 2025 we proudly exceeded our target, reaching 86.8%.

Science Based Targets initiative

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a voluntary corporate climate initiative that helps companies take credible, science-based climate action through clearly defined targets. It does so by translating the latest climate research into practical and applicable frameworks, supporting businesses in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement. This includes the ambition to limit global warming to 1.5°C and aligns with the global objective of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest.

In 2024 we committed to SBTi via our parent company, Ratos AB. This will serve as our baseline year going forward, and our emission reduction targets across Scope 1, 2 and 3 will be validated by SBTi.

Transparency across our environmental impact throughout our value chain is a key priority for us. This will give us qualified data and insights to support informed decision-making and guide future reduction initiatives towards implementing long-term, responsible solutions.

Explainer: Scope 1, 2, and 3

Scope 1 includes direct emissions from activities that Oase Outdoors controls directly. This covers emissions from our headquarters, such as company vehicles and on-site energy generation, including solar panels.

Scope 2 refers to indirect emissions from purchased energy used by Oase Outdoors at our headquarters, including electricity and district heating. These emissions occur at the energy supplier’s facilities but are a result of our energy consumption.

Scope 3 covers all other indirect emissions across our value chain, including emissions from raw materials, manufacturing, transportation, product use and end-of-life. As this scope covers the entire product journey, Scope 3 represents the largest share of our total emissions.

Målbar

In 2024, we initiated a collaboration with the Danish company Målbar. They have developed a screening tool designed to calculate CO2eq emissions across the full life cycle of products manufactured globally — from raw material extraction to end-of-life disposal. 2024 serves as our baseline year, and we use Målbar to document the CO2eq footprint of our products as part of tracking and reporting the development of our Scope 3 emissions.

The tool works by collecting data on the individual components of a product, which we use to calculate the product’s CO2eq as a first step. In the future, we aim to incorporate additional environmental impact parameters into our screenings. The calculations are based on the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) standards established by the European Commission.

Explainer: CO2eq

CO2eq stands for carbon dioxide equivalent. Unlike CO2, CO2eq includes multiple greenhouse gases and allows their emissions to be compared based on their global warming potential (GWP). This is done by converting the amount of each greenhouse gas into the equivalent amount of carbon dioxide that would cause the same level of warming.

Independent consultants and testing specialists

Our product portfolio spans a wide range of categories, each subject to different legislation, testing requirements and documentation. With such a broad assortment and many markets to cover, it is not feasible for our Impact & Compliance department to cover all regulatory, testing and certification aspects internally. For this reason, our external partners play a vital role in ensuring that all products comply with relevant requirements.

When we do not have the necessary in-house expertise for a specific product category, we work closely with our external partners to access specialised knowledge. This supports both our internal teams and our suppliers in meeting applicable standards and regulations.

We collaborate exclusively with highly qualified testing and certification companies from Europe and Asia, including Bureau Veritas, SGS, Bolls and Eurofins. In addition, we operate our own internal testing setup, allowing us to continuously test products and verify compliance with current legislation, standards and requirements across our entire value chain.

This approach is essential to ensuring that retailers and consumers can trust that our products are thoroughly tested, safe to use and compliant with all relevant standards.
