Case: A milestone in reducing the impact of our own facilities
From 1 July 2026, all electricity used at Oase Outdoors headquarters in Give is sourced from wind and solar energy. This marks an important milestone in our ongoing efforts to lower our impact and optimise our actions across Scope 1 and 2. Several initiatives now come together to support a better energy mix and more resource-efficient operations.
An earlier step was the replacement of gas heating with district heating as part of the local heating infrastructure. As a result, the site is no longer dependent on gas for heating, reducing direct emissions from our own operations.
Electricity sourced solely from renewable sources
In 2025, we completed the installation of solar panels on the roof of our warehouse building, reducing our dependence on purchased electricity. The system became operational in March and generated 81,958 kWh by the end of the year, covering 30% of our electricity consumption. Surplus electricity generated on site was fed back into the local grid.
The solar panels are combined with an electricity agreement ensuring that any purchased electricity comes from the Danish company go’energi and is sourced solely from wind energy. Together, this means that the electricity used at our headquarters is now independent of fossil energy sources such as coal, oil and natural gas.
Supporting the shift to electric vehicles
We have also made it easier for employees to choose electric vehicles. In 2025, three new charging stations were added, bringing the total number on site to seven. The charging stations are available to employees during working hours, creating a more convenient setup for those driving electric cars. Compared with 2024, electricity used for EV charging increased by 127%, from 15,364 kWh to 34,818 kWh.
Reducing water use in product testing
Our work to reduce resource use also extends to our product testing facilities. Oase Outdoors headquarters houses one of Europe’s largest test facilities for tents and awnings, where products are tested against heavy wind and rain.
Thorough testing is essential to product development, helping us ensure the quality and longevity of our products. To reduce water consumption in this process, we have installed a water recycling tank, allowing water from product testing to be collected and reused.
Together, all these initiatives support our efforts to optimise our facilities, reduce our impact across Scope 1 and 2, and continue the transition towards a better energy mix.
